We believe that the Church is the "hands of Jesus." And that the local church is the plan to effectively meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of every community. As part of the Jordan House Model, the church plays a strategic role. Matthew 5:16 says: "…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 16:18, 'I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it' , and James 1:22 says: "Do not merely listen to the word…Do what it says."
We believe local church congregations offer hope and life; the church offers the best context for working with the poor in overcoming their lack of opportunity. The local church with its emphasis on restored relationships can meet spiritual, social and physical needs. Operation Uganda - empowers, equips, strengthens and releases people to serve their communities, enabling them to act as beacons of hope to their people and to spread the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Church based training on Discipleship, marriage, counseling and youth and children’s programs all benefit and strengthen the community.
Through the Jordan House Church we can identify and address need’s through the body, we anticipate that we will be able to place children who are in need into church family’s as foster placements and continue to provide support an assistance on all levels. The Jordan House concept which integrates and addresses the urgent need of care for Orphaned and Vulnerable children through the children’s home, and also practically impacting the local community bringing lasting change, and finally it is expressed through a local church. These three – Children’s Home, Community Centre, and Church all meshed into one also assist in breaking down barriers for the children in our care – no linger are they in an institution but are a dynamic and valuable part of a community, interacting and participating school, community and in church.
